Lic. Antonella Colque will make a stay in Denmark
FEMS scholarship for the doctoral student CIQUIBIC
Colquhoun Antonella obtained a Research & Training Grant otorgado por la Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) for an internship research 3 months in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Søren Molin (CFB-Biosustain, Lyngby, Denmark).
Antonella is doing the 5th year of his doctoral thesis under the direction of Dr.. Andrea Smania, investigating the evolution of antibiotic resistance mediated AmpC the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. During her internship, It will study the molecular mechanisms used P. aeruginosa to develop resistance to antibiotics β-lactam in experimental models of infection, where bacteria grow adhered to "beads" alginate or organelles epithelia (mini organs), both innovative models that have been optimized in the laboratory of Dr.. Molin to simulate the conditions in the airways of patients with cystic fibrosis.
