A la Dra. Ana Racca del CIQUIBIC
La Dra. Ana Racca fue distinguida con el premio JBC/Herbert Tabor Young Investigator Awards otorgado por la prestigiosa revista Journal of Biological Chemistry. La Dra. Racca fue merecedora de esta distinción por su ponencia oral “Cytoplasmic Fra‐1 and c‐Fos: potential targets for specific breast cancer therapy” presentada durante el congreso “56th International Conference on the Bioscience of Lipids, ICBL”, realizado en la ciudad de Puerto de Iguazú, del 22 al 26 de septiembre del corriente año.
La Dra. Racca realiza una estadía posdoctoral en el CIQUIBIC bajo la dirección de la Dra. Beatriz Caputto, en el tema “Mecanismo de regulación de la síntesis de fosfolipidos por c-Fos y Fra-1. Implicancias en la proliferación celular y crecimiento de tumores de mama”. Durante la ICBL presentó su trabajo sobre los mecanismos por los cuales las proteínas c-Fos y Fra-1 sostienen la proliferación celular maligna en tumores mamarios mediando el aumento de la velocidad de biogénesis de membranas.
Durante el encuentro, otros dos miembros de nuestro Centro e integrantes del grupo de la Dra. Caputto, fueron distinguidos por sus trabajos. El Dr. César Prucca recibió una de las dos distinciones otorgadas a la mejor presentación tipo poster por su trabajo “N-terminal portion of C-Fos as a negative dominant of the phospholipids synthesis activation: a new target for glioblastomas”, mientras que la Lic. Lucia Rodríguez fue merecedora de una mención especial por su presentación “c-Fos regulates branching formation in neurons”.
Dr. Ana Racca was awarded with the JBC / Herbert Tabor Young Investigator Award, granted by the Journal of Biological Chemistry. Dr Racca was honored with this distinction for her oral presentation “Cytoplasmic Fra-1 and c-Fos: potential targets for specific breast cancer therapy” at the 56th International Conference on the Bioscience of Lipids (ICBL), held in the city of Puerto Iguazú, 22-26 September, 2015.
Dr. Racca is doing a postdoctoral stay at CIQUIBIC under the supervision of Dr. Beatriz Caputto, on the subject “Mechanism of regulation of phospholipid synthesis by c-Fos and Fra-1. Implications for cell proliferation and growth breast tumors. ” At ICBL, she showed how c-Fos and Fra-1 sustain malignant cell proliferation by increasing the rate of membrane biogenesis in breast tumors.
Two other members of our Centre, and also members of Dr. Caputto’s group, were awarded for their communications at ICBL. Dr. César Prucca received one of the two awards given to the best poster presentation for his work “N-terminal portion of C-Fos as a negative dominant of the phospholipids synthesis activation: a new target for glioblastomas”, whereas the PhD student Lucia Rodriguez received a special mention for her presentation “c-Fos regulates branching formation in neurons”.
