SAMIGE Award 2015

To Microbiol. Alin Tobares, from CIQUIBIC

Microbiologist Alin Tobares was awarded wuth the prize for Best Oral Communication XI Argentine Congress of General Microbiology 2015 (SAMIGE 2015), held on August 5-7, 2015 in Cordoba, Argentina. The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) awarded this distinction for her paper ” A long-term experimental evolution study by comparative genomics: modulation of cdi-GMP has a key role in Pseudomonas aeruginosa adaptation to bimodal switching between biofilm and planktonic states “.

Mic. Tobares is doing her doctoral thesis at CIQUIBIC under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Smania on the project “Role of the mechanisms of mutagenesis genetic diversification processes in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.” At SAMIGE 2015 she presented his work on the mechanisms of adaptation of the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa to growth in biofilms and planktonic states.
